Let me start this post by saying I am not replacing my love of Starbucks with making a drink at home. In fact, I am ACTIVELY drinking a green tea I purchased this morning as I type this (which is literally $3.82 for water that some say tastes like grass – how’s that for loyalty?).
I did, however, need to find a way to reel in the $8.50+ that I was spending a day on beverages that are consumed and gone by 9:00am and, since tea would just be TOO EASY to make from home, I went with my coffee drink of choice: Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew.
Not going to lie, it took several tweaks to make my heart be okay with concocting this drink from home. In fact, after going into an almost full-blown panic attack when I realized how LONG it actually takes to just BREW the cold brew, I found this handy dandy pre-made cold brew during a late night ice cream run (#noshame).
Keep scrolling for the magical recipe, and to easily add the ingredients to your cart for your next Target pick-up (and don’t act like you don’t have one coming up dude, you’re not fooling anyone).
- Cold Brew coffee
- Vanilla Syrup
- Heavy Whipping Cream
- Milk (I use skim!)
- Your favorite cup (I linked mine here!)
Start by combining 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream and 1/4 cup skim milk with 1.5 tablespoons vanilla syrup (make sure to mix it well since the cream is heavier than the milk!)
Fill your favorite cup 2/3 of the way with cold brew; add ice (I prefer just a little bit of ice but some people like more so go ahead – be creative with your ice usage).
Gradually pour the vanilla sweet cream mixture over your cold brew (I like to use the pitcher from our beverage station so I can put any leftovers in the fridge for second (and/or third) coffee).
BAM – cold brew for less (but just as tasty; or, as tasty as something can be that you make yourself)
Try it out and let me know what you like – leave any adjustments you did in the comments so we can perfect this bad boy!
